Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Skootora, operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS] (“we”, “us”). By using Skootora you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. What Skootora is — and is not

Skootora is a marketplace that connects travellers with independent scooter rental shops in Bali. The rental is a contract between you and the shop. We are not the owner of the vehicles, we are not the rental provider, and we do not operate the shops. We provide the platform: search, the booking request, the online payment and the messages between you and the shop.

2. Booking, acceptance and payment

• You send a booking request. It is not confirmed until the shop accepts it. Sending a request is free and charges nothing.
• When the shop accepts, you pay the rental online to complete the booking. If you do not pay within the window shown, the booking is released.
• Payment is processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in your chosen currency for convenience; the amount charged is as stated at checkout.
• The security deposit, where a shop requires one, is paid in cash directly to the shop on delivery and returned by the shop at the end. We never hold the deposit.

3. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellation terms, and what is refunded, are shown before you pay and on your voucher. A shop that cancels a confirmed booking refunds you in full. If a bike is not delivered, you can report it from your voucher and we will review it. Refunds are returned by the method you paid with and can take several business days.

4. Your responsibilities as a rider

• You must be of legal age and hold a valid driving licence, including an International Driving Permit valid for motorcycles where required.
• You must ride lawfully and safely, wear a helmet, and follow Indonesian traffic law.
• You are responsible for the vehicle while it is in your care and for any traffic fines incurred.
• The condition of the vehicle, insurance, and the deposit are agreed directly with the shop under its own rental agreement, which you can read before booking.

5. Responsibilities of shops

Shops are independent businesses. A shop is responsible for the accuracy of its listing, the condition and roadworthiness of its vehicles, delivering and collecting as agreed, and honouring its own rental agreement. Shops agree to the separate shop terms when they register.

6. Fees

Using Skootora is free for travellers. Shops pay Skootora a commission on completed rentals, disclosed to them in the shop console. The price you pay as a customer is the rental price set by the shop.

7. Conduct

Do not misuse the service: no fraud, no false bookings, no attempt to break or probe the platform's security, and no unlawful use. We may suspend accounts that do.

8. Liability

Because the rental is between you and the shop, Skootora is not a party to it and is not liable for the vehicle, its condition, or any loss, injury or damage arising from the rental. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skootora's total liability to you for the platform is limited to the Skootora fees attributable to the booking concerned. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Disputes

If something goes wrong with a booking, contact the shop first; we can help mediate at support@skootora.com. These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW COUNTRY], and disputes are subject to the courts of [JURISDICTION], without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.

10. Changes

We may update these terms as the service changes and will post the new date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
