Scooter rental in Berawa

Berawa is the beach-club end of Canggu — Finns, Atlas, La Brisa — and its single road, Jalan Pantai Berawa, gridlocks solid from about 4pm to 7pm. On a scooter you filter past the queue; in a car you become part of it.

Find a scooter

Berawa packs Canggu biggest beach clubs onto one road that runs down to the sand. That is the whole appeal and the whole problem: everyone wants to be on the same strip at the same time. A scooter is the only sane way to get in and out.

Bikes and prices in Berawa

A small automatic — Honda Scoopy, Vario, Yamaha Fino — is ideal for squeezing past the club traffic and slotting into a packed parking lot. Budget roughly IDR 60,000–90,000 a day, or about IDR 500,000–700,000 a week.

A bigger NMAX or PCX (IDR 150,000–250,000 a day, IDR 800,000–1,000,000 a week) makes sense if you are riding two-up to Seminyak or beyond, but around Berawa it is more bike than you need. Shops deliver to your accommodation with helmets, and several require no cash deposit. Photograph the bike existing marks before handing over anything, and carry your International Driving Permit.

What it is like to ride in Berawa

Most of the action is on Jalan Pantai Berawa, a single road lined with clubs, gyms and cafés, plus the narrow shortcut that links Berawa to Batu Bolong. Surfaces are decent but the traffic is relentless in the afternoon and the valet scrum outside Finns and Atlas — cars stopping, scooters weaving, security waving — is the trickiest bit. Keep your speed low and your eyes on the car doors.

Parking in Berawa

The big clubs sort this out well: Atlas has a large dedicated scooter lot at the entrance, and Finns is similar. You pay only if you arrive by bike or car — typically IDR 2,000 for a scooter and IDR 5,000 for a car. The Berawa beach car parks run around IDR 2,000–5,000. At smaller cafés, park with the attendant and tip IDR 2,000–5,000.

How far is Berawa from…

Airport (DPS): about 14 km and 45–90 minutes — 30–40 early, 60–90 in the evening crush (worst 4pm–8pm and Saturdays). Leave a wide margin for a flight.

Batu Bolong / central Canggu: 5–10 minutes via the shortcut. Seminyak: 20–30 minutes down the coast. Echo Beach: about 10 minutes.

The dawn checkpoint and the club gridlock

Two things Berawa regulars plan around. First, the police checkpoint at the Jalan Pantai Berawa and Jalan Pererenan junction — it is a known spot, often set up around dawn to catch the surfer traffic. Carry your IDP, strap your helmet properly, and it is a non-event.

Second, the strip timing. Jalan Pantai Berawa becomes a car park from roughly 4pm to 7pm as the clubs fill. If you are heading out for a sunset session, ride in before 4pm or after 8pm, or take the shortcut to Batu Bolong on a scooter and skip the worst of it entirely.
